# 5th Grade Math Review: Day 4

In __yesterday's post__ we looked at multiplying both whole numbers (3-digit by 2-digit) and decimals. If you missed the live stream with the answers, you can watch that __here__. Today we look at the inverse operation of yesterday - division.

**Decimal Division with Models**

Once again, 5th graders are in uncharted territory here. Students have never been asked to divide decimals before 5th grade and, while the procedure is similar to whole-digit division, something peculiar happens when there's a decimal in the divisor. This first video looks at what really goes on with decimal division by using area models.

Now that you've learned about decimal division models, see if you can answer this related problem.

**Dividing Decimals**

While using representations to show what happens when you divide decimals, 5th graders will need to be able to divide without any type of visual representation as well. Take a look at this video to see how it's done.

That wasn't so hard, was it? Now that you know divide decimals, try these two problems from a released STAAR test.
